Morgan Talks OU Interest, Childhood Favorite

In this interview Christian Morgan, a 2013 tight end prospect from Prestonwood Christian in Plano (TX) talked a little bit more about his interest in the Oklahoma Sooners and what he is looking forward to seeing while in Norman this Saturday for the spring game.

Christian Morgan's body type just screams tight end when you see him. Scary thing is he is already standing at 6-foot-4 and 240-pounds and he will only be a junior next season. Morgan grabbed multiple spectators' attention at the Nike Camp this past Sunday at TCU.

One school that Morgan has definitely caught the attention of is Oklahoma along with some other ones already.

"Definitely OU I got invited back up there next Saturday for the junior day and the spring game. So them and going up to Oklahoma State, LSU and Texas this summer," Morgan explained.

While on a visit to Norman earlier in the off-season Morgan got a chance to talk with the Sooner's coaching staff and came away feeling comfortable.

"I just like the coaching staff," Morgan said about Coach Stoops and company. "I thought the coaching staff was real welcoming. It felt good there. I felt comfortable so it was good."

Growing up Morgan was a fan of the team down south who sports the burnt orange every Saturday in the fall.

"My whole family were big Texas fans," Morgan stated. "They all went to the University of Texas. I was a little bit of a Texas fan but I'm not really biased as of now -- I'll go anywhere."

Last season Morgan actually played with his hand on the ground on both sides of the ball for his squad and did a heck of a job.

"I played offensive line and defensive end last year," Morgan began. "I think I had about ten or twelve sacks but I don't remember exactly."

Morgan may have had success last season in the trenches but the Sooners are recruiting him at the tight end position which and that is where Morgan says he wants to play.

Next week Morgan is most looking forward to just seeing the environment around the campus for the game.

"Just seeing the environment I mean I just love to be around it," Morgan said about Norman. "It's fun. It's a home up there. Everybody knows everybody. It's a big family so I think it's fun to be a part of."
