"I called Coach Martinez and he let me know over the phone," Harris said about how he found out he had an offer. Oklahoma's secondary coach, Coach Martinez was made his way to Mesquite Horn today to check out the 5-foot-11 and 160-pound corner prospect.
"I had to put on a show," Harris said.
After hearing the news Harris says he was just sitting around with his parents smiling.
"I'm happy," Harris stated. "I'm ecstatic actually. I'm just sitting here at the computer smiling like a mug."
Harris touched on what it is about him that stood out to Coach Martinez.
"He said he likes the way I play the game. He likes my attitude. He likes that he can count on me and doesn't have to worry about me being dumb in the class room."
Even though he was just in Norman, Harris is going to get with Coach Martinez to decide on what day would be the best for him to come up on. Without the offer Harris had already said that he liked the Sooners but now with the offer he definitely likes the Crimson and Cream he says.
"Oh you know I like them now. That offer means a lot. They are definitely moving up in the ranks. When I go back up there and see the campus I'm pretty sure that they will be on top."
Along with the offer from Oklahoma, Harris was also offered by Stanford today and has plans on checking them out this summer he says.
