After evaluating Reid at practice Coach Martinez decided to go ahead and let Reid's head coach know that he wanted to offer Reid a scholarship.
"He (Coach Martinez) came by and he told my coaches that he wanted me," Reid explained. "He looked at me and looked at my film. He just wanted to see me (in person)."
Receiving a Sooner offer was good news to Reid who holds the Sooners high on his list of schools.
"It's nice," Reid said about the offer. "It's a really big school on my list."
This upcoming summer Reid says he has plans to get to Norman to check out the campus along with taking part in the summer camp in early June.
Distance from home does not play a factor for Reid. The most important thing for him is feeling comfortable wherever he decides to go.
"It's not a factor," Reid said about leaving home for school. "I'm just trying to get somewhere I can feel comfortable around everybody rather if it's at home or away."
With schools letting out for summer soon it sounds like Reid could be announcing his decision anytime now.
"I will probably make a commitment this summer," Reid stated.
Last season Reid finished with 60-tackles along with three-interceptions, four- pass deflections and two-caused fumbles. Stick with Sooners Illustrated for more news on Reid in the future.--Joey Helmer--
