Sooners Headed to Fort Worth

NORMAN, Okla. -- If the Sooners are to make it to a Super Regional again, they'll have to get by fellow 2010 College World Series participant TCU in the Fort Worth Regional.

OU, the No. 2 seed, will face off against No. 3 Dallas Baptist, while the No. 1 TCU Horned Frogs will battle No. 4 Oral Roberts in the first round of double elimination action.

The Sooners lost to the Dallas Baptist Patriots 3-2 earlier in the season at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

The Patriots scored all three runs in the third inning, while OU added one in the fourth and fifth but could not score again.

OU also has a history with TCU this year.

The Sooners took both regular season meetings, by scores of 13-6 and 7-4.

Winner of the regional will face off against the Houston Regional Champion, which comprises No. 1 Rice vs. No. 4 Alcorn State and No. 2 Baylor against No. 3 California.

Tournament play begins Friday, followed by Super Regionals June 10-13.

The College World Series is set for June 18-28/29 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.
