Davis Inks Pro Deal

Former Sooner guard Cade Davis will be playing at the next level, as he signed a two-year contract with MZT Skopje to play in Europe.

"To play professionally is pretty much a dream come true," Davis said. "I remember in first, second and third grade when we had to write letters to ourselves about what we wanted to do when we grew up. Mine were always about playing basketball, and now that's what I get to do. I guess it's good to write down your goals."

Skopje is the capital city of Macedonia, which borders Greece to the north and also neighbors Albania, Bulgaria, Kosovo and Serbia.

"I know there's a lot of history and architecture there," Davis said. "I'm anxious to experience the culture. They speak Macedonian, so I think I'm going to have to buy Rosetta Stone and see if I can learn some things."

Davis, the leading scorer and co-leading rebounder for OU last year, averaged 14.2 points and 5.0 boards en route to earning honorable mention All-Big 12.

He also earned Academic All-Big 12 honors and led the team in scoring 12 times, including in each of the last seven contests.

The 6-foot-5, 209-pound sharpshooter averaged 20.7 points and 52.7 percent field goal shooting over that stretch and finished with 181 career 3-pointers and 1,015 points, ranking him fifth and 35th in OU history, respectively.

Davis reports to training camp Aug. 15.
