Ranking the Most Important on Offense: No. 18

Sooners Illustrated is now into the second week of the countdown with another fullback.

No. 18:

Player: Marshall Musil

Position: Fullback

The rundown: He was listed as the starter on the spring depth chart, which can be inaccurate at times due to injuries and other situations in the offseason. In this case, it was because official starting fullback Trey Millard underwent minor offseason shoulder surgery. But Musil, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound sophomore from La Crosse, Kan., had just three carries for 11 yards last year in a reserve role behind Millard. In fact, he only played in seven of the Sooners' 14 games.

Expectations for 2011: Due to the uncertainty about Millard's health coming into fall camp, Musil makes it into the Top 20 on the list. He would be the starter should anything not be right with Millard. But because everything should be fine, Musil will see limited time and not play in some games, just like in 2010. That will inevitably decrease his importance on this team.
