RECRUITING: Quinn just wants to win

Oklahoma's latest commitment - Garland offensive lineman J.D. Quinn - talks about his decision

J.D. QUINN, OL, 6'3 1/2, 265, 5.0, GARLAND, TEXAS:

JH: Congratulations on picking Oklahoma. What was it about the Sooners that caused you to pick them so early?

JD: "They are the best school. Period. It is as simple as that. I come from a winning high school program and I want to go to a winning college program."

JH: So winning was the biggest factor over anything else?

JD: "They win games and that is the bottom line. I will adjust to whatever offense they have or anything else, but when it is all said and done OU is going to win."

JH: What position do you feel you will play at OU?

JD: "I am probably an inside guy. I am not going to be a monster on the collegiate level and I will probably play guard at OU."

JH: Do you like to run block or pass block better?

JD: "My high school doesn't throw the ball much. I would rather fire off and hit the guy in front of me. I love to battle inside and all the fun is inside. The running backs just get to run real fast, but I get to hit somebody and hit them in the mouth."

JH: OU runs a balanced offense, so they will throw the ball some as well. Is that OK with you?

JD: "Whatever it takes to win the game. If we have to pass the ball to win the game that is fine with me. However, there are going to be a enough run plays at OU that I get to fire off and hit somebody."

JH: What other schools did you consider?

JD: "I also considered TCU, Iowa State, Iowa, Arkansas and Texas Tech. All those schools offered me, but this was an easy decision for me to pick Oklahoma."
