Ranking the Most Important on Offense: No. 5

Sooners Illustrated has finally made it into the Top Five of its countdown, so come on inside for the analysis.

No. 5:

Player: Kenny Stills

Position: Starting wide receiver

The rundown: In his freshman season, Stills exploded for nearly 800 receiving yards, catching 61 passes. He ranked second on the team with his 786 yards, third for receptions and tied for third in touchdown catches. He hauled in five of those. With those numbers, the 6-foot-1, 189-pound speedster set OU freshman records for receptions and receiving yards. That was enough to land him honorable mention Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year by the coaches.

Expectations for 2011: If anybody outside of Ryan Broyles is going to have a breakout receiving year, it's Stills. And that's very likely to happen. He could easily go for 1,000 yards-plus alongside Broyles, who will probably rack up at least 1,500 again. Stills is a tremendous sidekick to Broyles and presents a great challenge to defenses trying to stop OU's aerial attack. He'll be the clear No. 2 target for quarterback Landry Jones.
