Scout College Football Preview--Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. -- Sooners Illustrated breaks down returning starters, best game, OU's 2011 outlook and more inside.

Last season's record: 12-2 overall, 6-2 Big 12

Returning starters/letterwinners: 29 (15 offensive, 14 defensive, five special teams)/53 (28 offensive, 21 defensive, four special teams)

Key losses: RB DeMarco Murray, DE Jeremy Beal, DB Quinton Carter

Key returnees: QB Landry Jones, WR Ryan Broyles, WLB Travis Lewis

Best game: @ Florida State, Sept. 17

Projected Finish: 12-0, appearance in National Championship Game

Outlook: The Sooners are lauded to be the No. 1 team in the land by many for several reasons. They are loaded with returning starters and experience on both sides of the ball. They are extremely talented, perhaps the most talented team in the country. And they have very few weaknesses. OU surges into the 2011 season on a high, winners of five straight, including a Big 12 Championship and Fiesta Bowl victory in the process. Should the Sooners ride that momentum and click early, they'll be very tough to beat.
