OU Changes Meet the Sooners Day

NORMAN, Okla. -- OU is moving its annual Meet the Sooners Day from its original location due to the extreme heat.

It was set to take place at the practice field on the south side of the stadium at 10 a.m. to noon, but has since been moved underneath the east and west grandstands of the stadium at the same time for safety precautions.

The offense and assistant coaches will be set up on the east side, while the defense, special teams and head coach Bob Stoops will be on the west side.

Additionally, in order to facilitate faster movement, only those players who have seen action in at least one game at OU will be available, as well as the coaches.

The General Public line will form at Gate 5 starting at 7 a.m. and flow underneath the Asp Avenue Parking Facility.

The Sooner Kids Club can enter the stadium at 7 a.m. through Gate 7, and they are required to check in at the Sooner Kids Club table for a membership package.

From that point, they will move to the lines under the stadium.

Although the concessions will not be open, water will be for sale, and restrooms will be open.

The University of Oklahoma urges fans to hydrate well for this event open to children ages of 14 and younger, provided a parent is present.

Parking will be available on all campus lots.
