Coach Norvell has talked about getting you into the receiving rotation more, how is that working out?
I mean, I'm over with the receivers and the offense and getting reps with those guys, getting prepared for the game and as for getting playing time, I mean, that's up to the coaches and, you know, if I get called, I'll be ready. And that's kind of how it works out, but as for right now, just working with the offense, getting reps, getting prepared for the games.
What do you bring to the table as a wide receiver?
I mean, I would say just the same as everybody else really. I mean, just working hard every day, just making plays, just doing our job in there really.
In terms of practice every day, do you get more reps on the practice field than you did in the past?
Oh yeah, I mean, we're all rotating in. We've got Trey right now, he was out today. I think he's having wisdom teeth done right now. But we have six wide receivers across the board and we all get pretty even reps, you know, ones and twos. And, you know, because you never know when somebody's going to go down or you never know when you're going to get called or when something's going to happen, so you just got to be ready to play.
How did you convince Coach Stoops to let you work at wide receiver?
I think it also helped this year, we kind of converted one of our linebackers. We got him in there snapping, so we actually have a backup this year. So, I think that's [helped]. So, he's doing a good job of backup, so I think it's helped me out to get a little more, Coach Stoops kind of a little lenient on actually letting me get in there and play some. But, I mean, at the same time, you know, it's still kind of a touchy subject, but [I'm] just trying as best as I can. I'd like to be in there.
First game, no fumble recoveries on a punt, what happened?
They fair caught all of them, good hands. I'm just out of luck there, I guess.
