Oklahoma Commits: Week 5 Schedule

Sooners Illustrated brings you our weekly report showing you where each Sooner commitment will be taking the field this weekend. Check inside for more.

John Michael McGee (Texas HS) – Another week and a totally different result for Texas HS as they dominated district foe, Royse City, 48-7. Texas High now sits at 3-2 on the season and will be hosting Denison tonight at 7:30.

Ty Darlington (Apopka HS) – Apopka is off to a frustrating start to their season after losing 17-15 last weekend to Olympia, dropping them to 0-3 on the year. Tonight Apopka will look to finally get in the win column when they host Hialeah-Miami Lakes.

Alex Ross (Jenks HS) – Ross was held out last week against Shawnee but the Trojans still dominated winning 54-7 to start district play. Jenks will travel to play Putnam City West later tonight.

Durron Neal (DeSmet Jesuit HS) – DeSmet earned their second victory in a row for the second time this season beating Chaminade 42-24. Neal had a big game with four-catches for 109-yards and two-touchdowns. DeSmet Jesuit is now 4-1 on the season and will host Oakville tonight at 7.

Trevor Knight (Reagan HS) – Reagan now sits at 4-0 on the year after defeating Churchill 52-14. Knight had a big game running the ball rushing for five-touchdowns on the night. Knight finished the game with six-completions on seven-attempts and 63-yards with eight-carries for 159-yards. Knight and his teammates will get to rest this weekend on their bye week.

Sterling Shepard (Heritage Hall) – Heritage Hall lit up the scoreboard last week defeating Oklahoma Centennial 69-0. Shepard had another good outing on the night finishing with two-carries for 35-yards and a touchdown along with one-reception for 38-yards. On the defensive side Shepard had four-tackles as well as an interception and another touchdown. Tonight at 7:30 Heritage Hall will travel to take on Newcastle.

De'Vante Harris (Mesquite Horn HS) – Horn faced another tough foe last week in Stephenville and came up short yet again losing 28-20. Harris had six-tackles, a sack and also had a reception for six-yards. Harris and his teammate have this week off.

Charles Tapper (Baltimore City College) – Tapper had two-tackles last week against Carver Vo-Tech in City Colleges 20-6 victory. City College improved to 2-1 on the season and will host Patterson Sunday at 6.

Polo Manukainiu (Trinity HS) – After winning a thriller last week against district rival Colleyville Heritage pulling off a victory in overtime, 38-35. Last night Trinity won again against another district rival winning 45-11. Manukainiu has been sporting a knee brace the last three weeks and looks to be getting back to 100-percent.

Kyle Marrs (Brandeis HS) – Brandeis is having a lot of success so far this year and last week defeated Clark 34-20. Brandeis now sits at 5-0 on the year and will travel to play Holmes tonight at 7:30.

Laith Harlow (Godby HS) – Godby looks to move to 4-0 on the year coming off a bye week last week when they travel to play their last non-district opponent in Crestview later tonight.

Daniel Brooks (Calhoun HS) – Calhoun dominanted Rockport-Fulton last week winning 41-14. Brooks helped the Sandcrabs improve to 5-0 on the year with a big night finishing with 11-carries for 113-yards and one-touchdown along with one-catch for 16-yards. Calhoun has a bye this week.

Eric Striker (Armwood HS) – Armwood handled their business again last week against Leto winning 68-0. Striker dominated the night with ten-tackles, two-sacks and also blocked a punt. Tonight Armwood will look to improve to 5-0 when they travel to take on Jefferson.

Trey Metoyer (Hargrave Military) – Last week Hargrave moved to 2-1 on the year defeating Nelson County 21-14. Tonight Metoyer and his teammates will host North Cross at 7.
