RECRUITING: Monk talks about visit

Lepanto, Arkansas wing Marcus Monk talks his recruiting situation after his visit to Norman

JH: How was your visit to OU this weekend?

MM: "It was good and I really liked it a lot. I really thought OU was like a family atmosphere and that is very important to me."

JH: Did you get a chance to meet the OU players?

MM: "The players are real cool and I hung out with them all weekend. My host was Larry Turner, but I got a chance to hang out with just about everybody. I also got a chance to meet Hollis (Price) and Quannas (White) and they had nothing but good things to say about OU. I didn't get a chance to meet Ebi (Ere), because he was at the doctor or something."

JH: What did you think of Kelvin Sampson and his staff?

MM: "The coaches were cool and they were very down to earth. They were very straight forward and that is what I want from my college coaches. I don't want recruiting talk. I want to know how I can fit into their program and how I can help myself academically."

JH: So would you classify your visit to OU a success?

MM: "Yes sir."

JH: Is OU your leader at this point?

MM: "I like them a lot and they are at the top of my list at the moment. But it was my first visit, so I wasn't planning on committing this weekend and I didn't."

JH: Where else do you plan to visit?

MM: "I really don't know at this point. Boston College and Arkansas are the two other schools that have offered me, but I don't know if I will visit those schools are not."
