Sooners shutout Missouri, clinch Big 12 bid

Sooners clinch Big 12 Baseball Tournament berth with their 7-0 win over Missouri Saturday in Columbia

Three weeks ago Oklahoma's chances of playing the Big 12 Baseball Tournament at the Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City looked bleak. But Sunday in Columbia, the Sooners' improbable comeback had a happy ending.

With their backs against the wall needing a win in the final regular season game, junior lefthander Buddy Blair delivered for the Sooners. Blair pitched eight shutout innings as the Sooners clinched the No. 7 seed in this weeks Big 12 Tournament with a 7-0 win over Missouri.

The Sooners finished the 2003 season at 22-29 overall and 10-17 in Big 12 play. They will play second-seeded Texas A&M in the opening round of the conference tournament on Wednesday at 1 p.m. See below for the complete pairings.
