RECRUITING: San Antonio speedster still likes OU

San Antonio, Texas WR Otis McDaniels says he could see himself running track and playing football at OU

JH: You finished third in the state meet in the 100-meters, were you a little disappointed with that race?

OM: "Actually, I am a little surprised I did that good because I pulled my hamstring a couple of weeks before the state meet and I didn't have an opportunity to train. That certainly hurt me a great deal, but despite that I ran pretty well."

JH: What are your fastest times in the 100 and 200-meter?

OM: "I have run a 10.49 in the 100-meters and a 21.04 in the 200-meters."

JH: Do you hope to be a two-sport guy in college?

OM: "I really love both sports and I want to play both sports in college. Most colleges are recruiting me to play both sports."

JH: Who has offered you at this point?

OM: "OU, TCU and Purdue are the three schools to offer me at this point. I still don't really have a favorite at this point."

JH: What are you thoughts on OU?

OM: "Oklahoma is one of my top schools for sure. I knew that OU had a great football team, but I really didn't pay attention to their track program. However, DaBryan Blanton just won the 100-meter dash in the Big 12 and he is from Texas. So, OU has proven they can develop a great sprinter as well and that impresses me."

JH: What are your plans for the summer?

OM: "I get into AAU track this summer and hopefully I'll get into the Junior Olympics. I hope to go to a football camp or two in the next couple of weeks and OU would be one of those camps I try to go to."
