Postseason Wrap-Up Series: Day V

NORMAN, Okla. — Sooners Illustrated moves on with the fifth edition of this year's postseason recap series, now presenting three pluses of 2011.

1. Sooners again reached 10 wins--No other program in the country has done it more. It's the NCAA-leading 33rd time they have reached the 10-win plateau and they did it by taking out Iowa in the Insight Bowl. Alabama ranks second on the list with 31 10-victory seasons, and Nebraska and Michigan are tied for third with 26. Although they fell one game short, the Sooners also have the most 11-win seasons, posting 20 of those.

2. OU won its third straight bowl game--Speaking of the 31-14 victory over Iowa in Tempe, Ariz., it marked the third consecutive year OU has been victorious in its bowl game. The Sooners recently triumped 31-27 over Stanford in the 2009 Sun Bowl and 48-20 in the 2011 Fiesta Bowl. Win one more and quarterback Landry Jones will become the first ever Sooner quarterback to do so.

3. Slot receiver Ryan Broyles broke the NCAA all-time receptions record--Broyles came back to OU for a number of reasons, mainly to win a National Championship and another Big 12 Title. And while that didn't happen, he did manage to set the all-time receptions mark in a victory at Kansas. Broyles recorded a 57-yard second quarter touchdown that eclipsed the record and also set the Big 12 receiving touchdowns record.
