1. OU came up short of a National and Big 12 Championship--In a season labeled as national title or bust, the Sooners didn't even make it to New Orleans. Heck, the unanimous preseason favorite to win the Big 12 didn't even win its own conference. Instead, it was shipped off to play in the Insight Bowl, another desert destination, but not the BCS one.
2. Sooners drop Bedlam battle--Forget about OU's eight-game winning streak against Bedlam rival Oklahoma State because it's over. The Cowboys took the Sooners to the woodshed in Stillwater by a final score of 44-10 in a game that was never close. It was downright embarrassing to go out that way, too, in a contest that would have won the Big 12 Championship.
3. Texas Tech ends OU's 39-game home winning streak--The nearly immortal Sooners inside Oklahoma Memorial Stadium became completely mortal on that October night. The Red Raiders stormed into Norman and stole a victory, the first such time OU had lost on its own field since 2005. It also severely damaged OU's National Championship aspirations which were still intact at the time.
