Fleming Earns Trip to Senior Bowl

Sooner boundary corner Jamell Fleming is headed to the Senior Bowl, as he accepted an invitation to the 2012 game Monday afternoon.

"Jamell is certainly deserving of this opportunity to spend a week here with the top decision makers in the National Football League," said Steve Hale, Senior Bowl President and CEO. "He's proven to be one of the premier defenders in the Big 12 and we expect him to put on a show here in front of the NFL scouts, coaches and GMs."

Fleming will be coached by Leslie Frazier and the Minnesota Vikings staff in the game, which will take place on at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 in Mobile's (Ala.) Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

The 63rd edition of the game will be broadcasted live on NFL Network.

OU's star corner earned First Team All-Big 12 this year after finishing fifth on the team with 60 tackles, including four tackles for loss.

Fleming also had 10 pass breakups, a pair of interceptions and fumble recoveries, one of which he took 56 yards to the house against Texas.

In two years starting for the Sooners, he managed 168 tackles, including 12.5 for loss, a sack, seven interceptions and 24 pass breakups.
