Oklahoma picked up their seventh commitment for the 2004 class when Austin, Texas receiver Fred Strong (6-2, 190, 4.4) verbaled to the Sooners on Friday. Strong chose the Sooners over Texas A&M, TCU, Colorado and Oklahoma State. He also listed Texas, but never received the offer he was looking for from the Longhorns.
Strong visited Norman last week during the Sooners' football camp and instantly became enamored with the Sooners.
"It was fun and I had a great time," said Strong about his visit to Norman in an interview with James Hale earlier this week. "They made me feel like I was at home. Coach Bobby Jack Wright and Coach Darrell Wyatt let me meet their family and that was very special. They actually took me by their house and let me meet their real family and then told me that I could be a part of their family if I came to OU."
