Sooners Have Their Man

NORMAN, Okla. — After a short search, head coach Bob Stoops has found his new linebackers coach, as former Arizona defensive coordinator and interim head coach Tim Kish has been hired, Sooners Illustrated has learned.

Kish was with the Wildcats for eight years, serving as the co-defensive coordinator and sole DC for his final two years in Tucson after working as the linebackers coach for six years.

Prior to that, Kish had stints at Purdue, Ball State, Army, Northwestern, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana.

He worked as the defensive coordinator at the final three.

Kish is known for his solid recruiting, as evidenced by getting named a Top 25 national recruiter in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

So, that's a major plus in him opening up the western pipeline, and he's also got a history of being a very personable, well-respected coach by his players.
