OU Officially Names Six to Roster

NORMAN, Okla. — Wide receiver Trey Metoyer was cleared Thursday and now the Sooners have added him and tight end Taylor McNamara to the roster along with junior college transfers, cornerback Kass Everett, tight end Brannon Green and defensive end Chaz Nelson, as well as 2011 signee Jordan Wade.

Metoyer was the top-ranked receiver in the 2011 receiving class before attending Hargrave Military Academy in the fall.

The Whitehouse, Texas native racked up 87 receptions for 1,304 yards and 21 touchdowns during his senior year, a fraction of his 259 receptions throughout his high school career.

That mark ranked him second in Texas high school football history.

McNamara, from Westview High School in San Diego, joins as an incoming freshman who totaled 526 receiving yards and seven touchdowns as a senior.

He's ranked as a three-star and 19th best receiver in the 2012 class.

Everett, expected to provide some sense of security and leadership for a secondary that was abused in 2011, earned First Team Southern California Football Association honors as a defensive back last year.

He compiled 25 tackles, three tackles for loss, five passes broken up and a fumble recovery in seven games.

Green, the second of two early enrollee tight ends, earned himself All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference second team in 2011 with his 15 catches and 213 yards in eight games.

The highly-touted blocking tight end had seven receptions for 68 yards and a pair of touchdowns his freshman year.

Nelson, out of Garden City Community College, was mentioned as an NJCAA first team All-American and also won Jayhawk Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

He did that by recording 96 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, breaking up four passes and taking an interception back to the house.

Wade, a four-star recruit, had 40 tackles and five sacks during his senior season in 2010 playing on the same defensive as fellow Sooner P.L. Lindley.

The previous season, Wade had 77 tackles, 14 sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and six pass breakups.
