The Sooners (13-10, 3-8 Big 12) will try to snap a three-game losing streak when they head to United Spirit Arena to face off against the Red Raiders (7-16, 0-11 Big 12). OU is coming off a heart-wrenching 71-68 defeat by Missouri, while Tech is still looking for its first conference win after falling for the 11th consecutive time, a 65-46 setback against Kansas State. OU won the earlier season meeting 64-55 in Norman and leads the overall series 31-19.
--A win this weekend would give OU its second in Big 12 play this season, more than the previous two seasons combined.
--The Sooners shot just 38.9 percent from the field and only 1-for-11 from 3-point range, but still won the first meeting.
--They have been held to just 3.7 3-point makes per game in conference play, and guard Steven Pledger has 31 of OU's 41 makes there.
--Speaking of Pledger, he's averaging 20.8 points per game on 57.8 percent shooting in OU's wins.
--The Sooners have been outboarded in six of their 11 conference games after dominating it during non-conference play.
Looking at the Red Raiders:
--They are the only team in the Big 12 with a losing record this year (7-16).
--Tech ranks last in scoring in Big 12 Conference play with just 53.5 points per game and last in field goal percentage (37.7 percent).
--Forward Jordan Tolbert leads the team and all Big 12 freshmen with 13.5 points per game.
--Guard Ty Nurse ranks second on the team and adds 8.7 points per contest.
--Head coach Billy Gillespie is in his eighth year overall with a 147-101 career record.

Sooners Illustrated's Take:
The Sooners may be tied for eighth in the conference with Texas A&M and struggling to a 3-8 Big 12 record, but the Red Raiders are the worst team in the conference by far. They have simply shown no life since the start of conference play and haven't really been competitive in any of their 11 losses, falling by double digits in nine of those contests. This one will be within single digits as it was the first time the two met, but again OU will triumph. (Big 12 Prediction Record: 6-5)
