Lewis joins Broyles in Detroit

Defensive end Ronnell Lewis slid down the draft boards farther than many expected, but in the end, he's headed to Detroit with his teammate Ryan Broyles.

After taking Broyles yesterday in the second round, the Lions selected Lewis with the 30th pick in the fourth round and 125th overall pick.

Lewis finished second on the team last year to fellow defensive end Frank Alexander in both sacks (13-83) and tackles for loss (5.5-58).

He was sixth on the squad in tackles, recording 59, 33 of those unassisted.

Lewis also had an interception, forced fumble and fumble recovery to go along with five pass break ups.

The 6-foot-2, 244-pound hybrid defensive end/linebacker earned All-Big 12 first team honors by the coaches and second team honors by the AP after having at least five tackles in nine games.

He started nine of the team's first 10 games before missing the final two with a knee injury.
