RECRUITING: Walker says one school hard to beat

Waco, Texas CB Marcus Walker talks about his recruiting ranking and gives the Sooners HIGH marks

MARCUS WALKER, CB, 5-11, 180, 4.45, WACO, TEXAS:

JH: What are your thoughts on being ranked as one of the top 100 players in the country?

MW: It is great to be in the top 100, and I will build on it from there. I plan on being the number one player in the country by the end of the season."

JH: Are you going to visit anywhere else this summer?

MW: "I am going to the LSU football camp on July 18 and then the following weekend I am going to take an unofficial visit to Texas A&M. Outside of those two, I am not going to visit anywhere else this summer."

JH: Are you not coming back to Norman sometime this summer?

MW: Me and Tory (DeGrate) were going to spend a weekend in Norman with Vince (Carter) and Tommie (Harris), but Tory plays on his national select AAU basketball team and he is traveling all the time. It doesn't look like we will ever have a free weekend where we can go up there and stay."

JH: What are your thoughts on recruiting at this time?

MW: "I like OU, Texas A&M, Florida State, LSU, Arkansas, Notre Dame and Nebraska. I can't say that I have a favorite right now. I have a lot to think about."

JH: Where does Oklahoma stand in that group?

MW: "Oklahoma is still at the top of my list. You just can't beat playing for a national championship for four straight years. I like them for a lot of other reasons as well, but their tradition and the fact they are one of the dominant teams in the nation makes them such a great football program. They are going to be hard to beat and they just seem to have everything that I am looking for in a college."
