Ricketts picked up her fourth win of the event in Sunday night's game after entering the victory in the fourth inning. The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year finished the game with three strikeouts while not allowing a hit or walk in 3.2 innings of action. The senior-to-be threw 33 strikes on 46 pitches en route to the victory after replacing Chelsea Thomas in the circle.
The American team got to Sunday's meeting with a 6-0 prelims record including two wins on Saturday, including Ricketts' third win in the circle, a 14-2 win over Canada. Ricketts started the game and finished with four strikeouts in five innings while allowing just three hits and one walk. The game featured an all-Oklahoma battery as Shults got the start behind the plate. At the plate, Shults finished with a RBI single in the bottom of the seventh. The U.S. later defeated Japan, 4-3, in a game that neither Oklahoma player saw action in.
