Meeting the team: defensive player No. 14

NORMAN, Okla. — Sooners Illustrated continues on getting you acquainted with the defense.

Player: Joseph Ibiloye

Hometown: Garland, Texas

Class: Redshirt senior

Height & Weight: 6-foot-3, 218 pounds

Likely position on fall depth chart: Starting linebacker

The rundown: Ibiloye has started five games in his career and played in 39. In those, he has managed to rack up 46 total tackles, the most of which came last year when he saw action in all but just one game. He also had a sack and pass breakup to go along with that production. Ibiloye really came on at the end of the season, recording half of his tackles in the final two games after managing just nine the other 10 games of the year.

Expectations for 2012: Full time starter. Impact player at the linebacker level. Along with Tom Wort, Ibiloye will be charged with the task of helping guide a very thin linebacking unit. He should up his totals considerably for his fifth and final season in a Crimson and Cream uniform. In OU's three linebacker sets, he'll be a mainstay player.
