RECRUITING: Sooners in good shape for Wisconsin DE

Four-star defensive end Rhyan Anderson talks about his summer and his interest in Oklahoma

JH: Have you gone to any camps this summer?

RA: "No, I haven't gone to any camps this summer. I have basically just been weightlifting and running with my teammates. Our coach opens the weight room from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the morning and many of us can go in there. We have a pretty good turnout and most of our team goes in there to work out."

JH: What are you goals this summer?

RA: "I am not really trying to get bigger, because I am concentrating on just getting stronger. I want my body fat to go down and I want to get stronger without putting on a lot of weight. I weigh 265 and I am also working hard on my speed. I run forties everyday and try to improve my speed, which is already pretty good at 4.6."

JH: You said in an earlier interview that you might try to get back to Norman this summer and visit some friends. Is that still the case?

RA: "I am not sure if I am going to Norman or not this summer. I went last summer and would like to go again, but this time my friend is coming up here to see me. I really don't know and I really don't think I will be able to make it."

JH: How well do you really know the OU football program?

RA: "I think I know the program pretty well, but I really don't know who to compare them to. In another words, I think I know a lot about OU, but compared to what? I don't know much of anything about any other colleges. I have studied OU's statistics both athletically and academically, and I have looked at some other colleges as well, but I would have to say that I know a lot more about Oklahoma than I do any other colleges."

JH: How is recruiting going?

RA: "I still think recruiting is going pretty good. It is hard to tell, because it is a dead period and I don't get any calls anymore. I do get a lot of mail however, and that keeps me informed a little bit."

JH: Have you narrowed your list of schools down?

RA: "I am most interested in Miami, Wisconsin and OU. Also, I need to add Ohio State, because they have offered me a scholarship. I don't have a favorite and I am pretty wide open at this time."
