RECRUITING: Chicago LB close to committing?

Chicago LB Chris Patterson has a leader, and says he might be ready to get recruiting it over with. Is that good or bad for the Sooners?

JH: The last time we talked you were getting ready to take an unofficial to Virginia, so how did that trip go?

CP: "The trip was okay, but I didn't really like the campus that much."

JH: You are ranked as one of the top 100 players in the country according to What do you think about that?

CP: "That was pretty sweat. It is amazing how far I have come, yet amazing how much farther I can go. The fact I am ranked so high just means I need to keep working harder, because I haven't seen any of the other guys who have been ranked in the top 100. I am sure they are great and I need to make sure I hold up my end of the bargain."

JH: The last time we talked you were also very high on Oklahoma. Do you still think highly of OU?

CP: "I still have a very strong feeling about Oklahoma, and they are still my number one choice. I am talking to some other schools, but I don't get the same impression with them as I do with Oklahoma. Right now I can't talk to the coaches, so that has slowed down recruiting a little bit."

JH: Is Oklahoma still you top school?

CP: "Yes, they are still my number one choice, but I am still talking to Michigan, USC and Miami."

JH: Are you still considering committing to OU this summer?

CP: "I am still thinking about that and it is a good possibility. I really don't want any distractions, because it is not fair to my teammates, so I might just go ahead and get it over with."
