GRID RECRUITING: Texas DE names a favorite

Colleyville, Texas DE Alan Davis has narrowed his list to three, but says one school still stands out

JH: What have you been up to this summer?

AD: "I went to the LSU and Texas camps, and then I had an opportunity to go by the OU camp, but I didn't participate in that one. I just watched the OU camp and had a great time looking around and talking to their coaches. I felt I performed well at the camps and I feel I showed the coaches at LSU and Texas what kind of talent that I had."

JH: How have your offseason workouts been going?

AD: "My workouts are going great. I get up every morning at 7 a.m. and go to the gym and lift weights with the team. Then I go back to the school in the afternoon and work on my speed and agility. I work on a super treadmill at the school that speeds up to 26 miles-per-hour, and it also has a incline of up to 40 percent that I work on my acceleration on. We have some great equipment at the high school and I try hard to take advantage of it. I am still at 6-4 and 240 pounds, and my weight moves up and down a little bit. I am working hard on my speed and feel that I will be a faster, quicker player this fall."

JH: What is the latest in recruiting?

AD: "Right now I have narrowed my choices down to three schools, and they are Oklahoma, Nebraska and LSU. All three of those schools have great traditions and they have wining programs. Going to a program that knows how to win is very important to me, and those three schools are very impressive in that area."

JH: What do you think about Oklahoma?

AD: "I really like the environment that is present at Oklahoma. I enjoyed my time around Coach (Bob) Stoops and I really like Coach (Brent) Venables, who is recruiting me. It was great hanging around them and they treated me like I was already a part of the team."

JH: Do you have a leader right now?

AD: "My leader right now would be Oklahoma."

JH: When do you think you will announce your decision?

AD: "I think I am going to go ahead and let the summer play out, but I plan on announcing my decision before the start of my senior season."
