3. Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops has taken away the field and boundary corner specifications
Forget about one guy being along the boundary and the other at the field position. Stoops has gotten rid of that with his new defensive scheme. Instead, it's left and right corners. The reasoning here is pretty simple. As he said after practice Monday evening, teams in the Big 12 like to run a lot of tempo offense and that makes it tough to arrange guys in the field, boundary setup. It's a safer bet in terms of avoiding big plays to keep the corners put on their side of the field. That's the reasoning for the switch. Demontre Hurst and Aaron Colvin are the left and right starting corners, respectively.
