Game ball goes to: UTEP running back Nathan Jeffery. Not only did he finish with a game-high 177 rushing yards on 21 carries, but he also blocked a punt and returned it 24 yards for a touchdown. Jeffery scampered for a long rush of 71 yards.
Play of the game: With 10:32 remaining, quarterback Landry Jones and the Sooner offense sitting on first-and-10 at the UTEP 18-yard line, he found tight end Brannon Green for a game-clenching touchdown.
It was over when: Jones threw that missile to Green for an 18-yard touchdown that made it 17-7 Sooners early in the fourth. It became Jones' second touchdown toss of the contest.
Surprise of the game: The simple fact that UTEP kept it close and forced a tie game. Everyone anticipated it to be a laugher at least by the early portions of the second half.
The biggest thing we learned: OU is overrated, at least at this point in the season. That's not to say that this team can't mold into a very good one, but a No. 4 ranking is quite generous considering the plethora of issues OU has.
The biggest concern: The big boys in the trenches on both sides of the ball. The offensive line had trouble protecting Jones and the defensive line got blown up at the line of scrimmage for a large portion of the contest.
Streak count: Three straight victories (same as the all-time amount) against UTEP
