Walker, who missed the season opener and didn't even travel to El Paso last weekend, has been out with an undisclosed personal issue.
But the two had earlier Wednesday what Stoops classified as a "good meeting" and he is set to return to action.
"So, that's a positive," Stoops said.
It most certainly is considering defensive tackle Stacy McGee is still suspended indefinitely.
"You know, I can't say everything's changed in two or three days, but they've consistently done a good job," Stoops said. "So, I don't know. You know, as time goes, they'll get more and more."
As far as Walker's health is concerned, Stoops would not elaborate too much, but he did offer up this after also enlightening us that he's been attending classes:
"He's fine," Stoops said. "We'll see. I don't have any other details for you, OK?
The main detail that counts is that he'll likely be back into the rotation for the Kansas State game because OU gets an idle week next week after facing FCS foe Florida A&M this Saturday.
"Well, we'll see kinda how he's doing," Stoops said. "But I would anticipate he would, sure. He hasn't been gone that long."
