SHAE REAGAN, ATH, 6'3 1/2 , 245, 4.6, IDALOU, TEXAS:
Reagan is talented quarterback at Idalou, who many college recruiters project at another position other than quarterback. However, Shae wants a shot to play quarterback in college.
"I would really like to play quarterback as I grew up playing quarterback really," said Reagan. "I play some safety and some college coaches project at me at other positions, but I look at myself as a quarterback. I would like to play quarterback, but if I get moved to other positions then that will be fine with me."
Reagan will be a four-year starter at Idalou. He started at safety during his freshman year, before moving to quarterback where he has started the last two years. Shea also gets the added benefit of playing for his dad, who is his position coach.
Reagan doesn't keep up with stats at all ,and that is a bit unusual with a quarterback. But he thinks the one number of importance is is the team's record, and Reagan lead the team to an 11-2 mark last year. However, his father Russ Reagan says that he rushed for 1,355 on 242 carries and 22 touchdowns, and hit on 80 of 145 passes for 1,089 yards and 12 touchdowns against only four interceptions. On defense he had 75 tackles at strong safety, acting often as another linebacker.
Reagan can bench 330 pounds, squats 400 and he has a 31-inch vertical jump. Reagan also starts in basketball (12 ppg) and in track he throws the discus (won class 2A state his sophomore year with a throw 169'9 and then last year finished second).
Reagan has been offered 11 schools thus far and he is working to get his choices narrowed down.
"We took some unofficials visit to Oklahoma State, Kansas, Colorado and Nebraska, and they have all offered," said Reagan. "Next week I will be hitting Texas A&M, Baylor and TCU for unofficial visits and they have also offered. After that I am going to try to narrow it down to five. I don't know if my final five will come out of that group or not. It will depend on who I hear from in the fall. If I hear from Oklahoma, Notre Dame or Purdue, then I think I would get interested in those schools. As it is, I don't have a favorite at this time."
Arizona State, UTEP, Texas Tech and Wisconsin have also offered him.
