Stoops: No staff changes anticipated

NORMAN, Okla. — If you've been on the Sooner rumor mill for the last few days about a potential coaching vacancy at Oklahoma State opening up for an OU assistant, get off it.

At least, that's what OU head coach Bob Stoops indicated Friday when he shied away from the topic while speaking with the media for the final time about the 2012 season.

"I got no idea what you're talking about," Stoops said. "I don't hear rumors."

When probed further, he came back with the same response.

"Again, I don't know what you're talking about," Stoops said. "If you wanna tell me…"

And finally, Stoops had this to say: "Well, who knows?"

Of course, the rumor is that long-time assistant, running backs and fullbacks coach and director of recruiting Cale Gundy or perhaps another assistant—again, it's all pure speculation—could be linked to an Oklahoma State opening.

But that certainly appears to be solely speculation.

In fact, Stoops went so far as to say he expects no staff changes for the upcoming season.

"No, but in the end nothing ever surprises me," Stoops said. "So, you know, every now and then a little bit of change never hurts."

For the time being, the only change is a few players graduating and others forgoing their senior seasons.

None such occurrences have or are currently taking place with the coaching staff.
