2012 postseason wrap-up series: day V

NORMAN, Okla. — Sooners Illustrated moves on with the fifth edition of this year's postseason recap series, now presenting three pluses of 2011.

1. Sooners claimed an unprecedented eighth Big 12 Title—No other current or former conference program has more than three Big 12 Championships. The Sooners just rattled off their seventh straight even year title and eighth overall when adding in the 2007 title. They further put their stranglehold on Big 12 dominance, even with this year's shared title with Kansas State. In fact, all the other Big 12 schools combined have just two more Big 12 Championships (10) than OU.

2. OU was perfect in true road games—For a change, its struggles didn't come away from Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Although they dropped home contests to Kansas State and Notre Dame, the Sooners rattled off victories at UTEP, Texas Tech, Iowa State, West Virginia and TCU to go an unblemished 5-0 in other teams' venues. It's the first time OU has done so since the 2008 season when it finished with an equal mark in true road contests./p>

3. Bob Stoops commanded his troops to 10 wins for the 11th time—Winning double digit games has been the rule more than the exception since Stoops arrived back in 1999. He found a way to do so again in 2012, going 10-3 with just that one conference loss. The Sooners still lead the country with their 34 seasons of 10 or more wins, two ahead of Alabama, and have done so each of the past three years.
