Romar becomes fourth defensive tackle commit

NORMAN, Okla. — The Sooners have landed yet another defensive tackle commit, as Port Arthur Memorial's Matthew Romar pledged as the 21st member of the 2013 class Monday evening.

Romar, who just received a bump to the 90th-ranked defensive tackle prospect earlier in the day, is a talented three-star lineman that has the potential to evolve into a solid collegiate player.

He boasts 10 offers, including ones from fellow Big 12 Conference members Baylor, Iowa State and Kansas.

The recently offered defensive tackle stands in at 6-foot-2, 255 pounds, so expect him to bulk up some upon entering Jerry Schmidt's strength and conditioning program.

That should help him mold into the player the coaching staff is hoping for with this pledge.

Romar joins three-stars Charles Walker and Josiah St. John and four-star Kerrick Huggins as current commitments in this class roughly a week before Signing Day.
