Meier jumps aboard

NORMAN, Okla. — Jay Boulware was expected to make a big splash when he landed on campus as part of Bob Stoops' new staff, and he's done so for the first time Wednesday afternoon.

Boulware locked up his first tight end commitment in Tulsa Union HS's Carson Meier.

Meier, though unranked in the latest version of rankings, is a very talented prospect that fits OU's mold at the position with his 6-foot-7, 210-pound frame.

He becomes OU's eighth verbal for the 2014 class and second at a pass-catching position next to wide out Dallis Todd.

He's also the ninth overall pledge as OU recently locked up Fullerton JUCO offensive lineman Andrew Feo.

Meier is the fifth offensive commit in the class.
