Quick sets up two official visits

The plan was for Fresno (Calif.) Central wide receiver Michiah Quick to take an unofficial visit to Oklahoma this summer.

That plan has been scrapped, but he will see the campus. Fresno Central defensive backs coach Tony Perry confirmed Wednesday that Quick has set up an official visit for OU on Oct. 4. The Sooners are hosting TCU that weekend.

"The TCU game is when he's going to be there," Perry said. "We're very excited about that."

OU has been in the mix for a while with Quick, and the Sooners are certainly factor considering former teammates Hatari Byrd and L.J. Moore are freshmen at OU. Byrd is Quick's cousin.

OU isn't the only official visit set up for the five-star recruit, either. Perry also confirmed Quick will visit Alabama on Nov. 8 for LSU weekend.

"Those two are set," Perry said. "We haven't set the other ones at this time."

Other schools in consideration for those three visits will be Notre Dame, USC, UCLA, Washington and Oregon. Coincidentally, OU and Alabama are the only two schools Quick has been unable to visit yet during his extensive spring and summer unofficial visits agenda.

The TCU weekend is going to be a Cali party for the Sooners. La Mirada (Calif.) four-star wide receiver commit Dallis Todd and Oakley (Calif.) Freedom five-star running back Joe Mixon have both confirmed they are also taking their official visits to OU that weekend.
