Stoops says no QB decision made

Reports late Monday night had Trevor Knight winning the quarterback battle. OU coach Bob Stoops quickly shot those rumors down Tuesday.

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops didn't even let the speculation begin. Walking into his Tuesday media session, Stoops let everybody know no decision has been made at quarterback.

A report came out late Monday night from TV station KFOR saying redshirt freshman Trevor Knight has won the starting quarterback position. Stoops said there is no truth to the rumor because the decision hasn't been made yet between Knight and junior Blake Bell.

Stoops said Monday he intends to make a decision either Thursday or Friday this week and remained consistent with that line of thought Tuesday.

But even Stoops is realizing the time is almost here.

"There is some pressure there," Stoops said. "The pressure has been there more in the last 3-4 days. When we're ready, we'll say something."

Some reports were speculating Knight won the job because he has been working with the first string unit lately. Stoops said that's not the case because Knight and Bell have been rotating throughout camp working with the first string and the second string.
