OU trimmed with gold this weekend

OU and Texas play for the Golden Hat and both will feature gold accents on their uniforms this weekend.

It's going to be a different look for Oklahoma and Texas when the schools meet for the annual Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl.

Custom "Boomer Sooner" for OU and "Longhorns" for Texas embroidery will on the inside of the jersey necklines. The Sooners' jersey is also going to have an additional gold logo neck patch to remind everybody it was OU that won the game last year and retained the Golden Hat.

"Guys are excited for the new uniforms," senior cornerback Aaron Colvin said. "It also is good for recruits."

Both teams will wear a special edition of Nike gloves. OU's gloves will read "Boomer Sooner" and will feature a crimson team logo atop the gold palm.

The Sooners have won three consecutive battles in the rivalry, including the last two by the combined score of 118-38. Saturday will mark the 107th all-time meeting between the schools.
