Sooners fall in overtime

OU was hoping to enter Big 12 conference play at 12-1 and riding an eight-game winning streak but fell in overtime to La Tech.

NORMAN, Okla. – The hope was for the Oklahoma basketball team to end its nonconference schedule with another solid victory.

But Louisiana Tech had other plans in a thrilling 102-98 victory against the Sooners on Monday night at Lloyd Noble Center.

OU carried all the momentum heading into overtime as senior forward Cameron Clark hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game.

The game changed in the latter stages of the first half as OU had a 14-point lead at one point only to see La Tech come back and tie it at 39 at halftime.

Clark led the Sooners with 26 points, while power forward Ryan Spangler added 20 points and 13 rebounds. OU had six players score in double figures.

The Sooners conclude the nonconference part of their schedule at 11-2 and had their seven-game winning streak snapped.
