Mixon No. 1-ranked OU commit

OU has four commits in the final Scout 300 but that certainly could change in the three weeks before signing day. The Sooners are in the hunt for several elite prospects.

Not a shock. It wasn't just his outgoing personality that won over Oklahoma fans, it's his production. Oakley (Calif.) Freedom Joe Mixon is ranked No. 18 in the final Scout 300 for the Class of 2014, released Wednesday morning.

Mixon, ranked No. 5 at running back, committed to OU two weeks ago and is one of four Sooner pledges to make the cut.

Coincidentally, all four are at the offensive skilled positions. Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain wide receiver Mark Andrews checks in at No. 61, while La Mirada (Calif.) High receiver Dallis Todd is at No. 215.

Despite missing half the season with an ankle and MCL injury, Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe quarterback Justice Hansen wasn't dropped too harshly, landing at No. 261.

OU is ranked No. 25 in the Scout team rankings but has a chance to make a major move with the final three weeks before signing day.

Scout 300 targets

Gardena (Calif.) Serra cornerback Adoree Jackson – No. 6

The most unlikely of all the OU targets left on the board, but the Sooners recently made his top six. He made an official visit to Norman in October, but unless something drastically changes, it doesn't feel like this is a battle OU will win.

Fresno (Calif.) Central wide receiver Michiah Quick – No. 48

The Sooners have been hot on the trail for Quick since April 2012, and it could pay off in the end. No doubt Notre Dame is in the race, and he should visit USC and UCLA during this month. However, OU has been there since the start and has never let up. He will announce on signing day.

Jenks (Okla.) High safety Steven Parker – No. 112

The No. 1-ranked player in the state and deservedly so. It's possible he's taking an official visit to Norman this weekend although he hasn't confirmed that himself. Texas A&M seemed to be the main threat, but a visit to Auburn the final weekend of the month could make things interesting.

Oklahoma City Douglass defensive end Deondre Clark – No. 118

The No. 2-ranked player in the state and committed to LSU. OU was thought to be long out of the picture but is certainly right back in the thick of things after a lot of efforts by defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery. Visiting Arizona State this weekend and Clark is expected to announce on signing day.
