With OU firmly entrenched in its Big 12 conference play, SoonersIllustrated.com is going to preview each of the Sooners conference games.
When: 7 p.m. CST
Last game: The Sooners got back to their winning ways with an impressive victory against Baylor that saw Isaiah Cousins score a career-high 21 points. Texas Tech was involved in arguably the most talked about game of the season after the Marcus Smart incident in the 65-61 upset victory.
What to watch for: At this point, you sort of know what you're going to get from Lon Kruger's group. Nobody is going to stand out, but somebody is always going to step up and effort is never going to be an issue.
Saturday was a positive sign for senior forward Cameron Clark, who bust out of a mini-slump with a solid 16-point outing on shooting a spectacular 7 of 8 from the floor. OU shot its best field goal percentage from the floor for the season.
It's not a trap game, but OU has to make sure it's not caught looking ahead to what should be an incredibly emotional Bedlam game against Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon. OU already won in Lubbock and just needs to worry about taking care of business Wednesday.
Scouting the Red Raiders: Tech certainly isn't an automatic victory like it appeared it would be entering the season. The Red Raiders only had three conference wins last season but already have four in the first season for Tubby Smith.
It will be interesting to see how the team responds to all the media attention. Since the Marcus Smart incident, Tech has been in the limelight and sometimes that can take a mental toll on a team, especially one that hasn't been profiled for much of the season.
On the court, it's still all about senior forward Jaye Crockett. He leads the team at 14.7 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game and his numbers are even better than that in conference play.
