Sizing up OU recruiting: 2015 QB

With junior days in the books, time to examine OU's offers at every position for the 2015 class. Let's start with quarterback.

You've had more than a month to digest Oklahoma's stellar Class of 2014. And with both junior days in the books, the crystal ball is starting to become a little clearer for OU's 2015 class.

It's time to look at the early offers and where OU stands. For some, it's great. For others, the door is closed and both sides have moved on.

This is not the Wish List, which will return to in April. Instead this is examining all offers at the position and listed in order of Scout's rankings.

It's tough to envision a scenario where OU doesn't take a quarterback for its class, but this might be the most behind OU has been in a while in the recruiting department at the position.

The Sooners have made three or four offers (depending where you feel J.W. Ketchum stands) and one of them is already committed.

Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage's Torrance Gibson (6-4, 207, No. 3 QB)

The only five-star offer for the Sooners at the position It's too early to say anything regarding Gibson. It's clear Josh Heupel has started to show a lot more interest in him, but it's not fair to say the Sooners are among his leaders at this point. Regardless of what happens, it won't be easy to nab a Florida kid recruited by everybody.

Stephenville (Texas) High's Jarrett Stidham (6-4, 190, No. 4 QB)

OU rushed hard for Stidham last month, but the battle was basically already over at that point. The Sooners never got Stidham on campus for a visit, and he committed to Texas Tech last week.

Allen (Texas) High's Kyler Murray (5-11, 170, No. 5 QB)

All he does is win so it's tough to question Murray despite his lack of size. It has felt for a long while Texas A&M will be his destination. OU has yet to get Murray on campus to make any sort of impression.
