OU's special teams 'wish list'

The "wish list" turns to special teams and a look at OU's top kicker targets.

With all spring games in the books, things are starting to work themselves out on the recruiting trail. It's time to start looking more intently on Oklahoma's "wish list" for the Class of 2015.

SoonersIllustrated.com is going to examine the recruiting situation for the Sooners at every single position in the next week.

Here is an idea of where OU stands heading into May. The number in parentheses indicates the number of recruits OU is looking to sign at the position for the Class of 2015. The names in no way reflect OU's official board but are the best guesstimate of who OU is targeting.

Special teams (1)

Committed: None.

Favorite: Belleville (Ill.) West kicker Austin Seibert. The No. 1-ranked kicker in the nation, Seibert was pumped to get the offer from OU two weeks ago. He has already visited OU once for its junior day and hopes to make it back to campus this weekend. He knows about special teams coach Jay Boulware's reputation with kickers, and it certainly has OU near the top in this battle.

Next in line: Rowlett (Texas) High kicker Andrew Galitz. If Seibert is the first option, then Galitz seems like a firm No. 2 option. He was at OU's junior day and the spring game, but the issue here is timing. The longer OU waits to see what Seibert is going to do, the more time it is giving other schools to make a run at Galitz. And based off what Galitz has been doing this spring, he's helping his stock with each day.

On the radar: None.
