The OKPreps spring football season is here, and SoonersIllustrated.com is hitting the road to see the top prospects in the state of Oklahoma.
WR Dahu Green
The cat is out of the bag with Green, who is clearly the No. 1-ranked wide receiver in the state. Green has the second most offers of anybody in the state but admits he's still waiting for that one big offer to make things interesting. His interest has picked up considerably after coaches have realized he can run routes to go along with his great hands and incredible size. The only lingering question remaining is what big-time program is going to make a serious run at Green?
2016 WR Deshawn Lookout
Green is running the show for 2015, and it's possible the best wide receiver mantle in the state is going to stay at Westmoore for 2016 because of Lookout. He put up quality numbers for a sophomore competing in Class 6A football, and his numbers should thrive even more this season after all the offseason work he has put in. Offers probably won't come his way yet, but these two weeks are going to get him on a lot more coaches' radar going forward.
DL Bobby Henry
All about consistency. There are times when there is no question Henry is the best player on the field and worthy of at least four-star status. But there are other times he's not as involved. And he has to show he can stay healthy. He's more refined as a player and comes from a family of quality football players so nobody is questioning his ability. Once he shows he has made that leap, no doubt the spring and summer should be kind to Henry.
DL Noah Jones
Taking a stab in the dark on this one. When Sooners Illustrated saw Southmoore scrimmage last August, the name circled for the future was Jones. No idea if he will put the pieces together, but at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, it would be foolish to discount him. More evaluation is certainly required, but he has the measurables to make a splash.
