There was a feeling this weekend Oklahoma basketball was going to pick up its first commitment for the Class of 2015, and it happened Sunday morning.
Indian Hills (Iowa) Community College center Akolda Manyang has officially pledged to the Sooners, a source confirmed.
Manyang, who is 7-foot, will be a recognizable name to OU fans as he is the cousin of former OU center Longar Longar.
As a freshman, Manyang averaged 8.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. Coming out of Rochester, Minn., for high school, Minnesota was also involved in his recruitment, but it felt like it was OU's to lose once he arrived on campus this weekend.
The addition of Manyang is another example of OU trying to build up its frontcourt. Two of its three 2014 high school signees were big post players and Manyang is bigger than all of them.
