The Opening: Will Sunderland

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Scout catches up with the four-star safety at the prestigious event...

Will Sunderland, a 6-foot03, 185-pound safety from Midwest City (Okla.) High has seemed close to a decision, but is not trying to rush the process.

“I am just trying to take my time and decide which schools I want to see and if I want to take any more visits after the football season, so I am just going to take my time on that," Sunderland confirmed.

He recently narrowed his list to five schools: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Ohio State, Nebraska.

"They all win games and they send players to the league. And they offer a lot of PT (playing time)."

Being in Oklahoma he gets pressure from both sides of the Bedlam rivalry, pretty much wherever he goes.

"Norman is like 25 minutes and Stillwater is like an hour and five minutes, so I run in to OU fans that want me to go to OU and then I run in to the OSU fans. So sometimes I think about it, but I do not let it get to me."

He has already booked three stops for official visits this Fall.

"I am going to go see Oklahoma when they play Tennessee and then I am going to take a visit to Ohio State when they play Michigan and I am going to see Arkansas when they play Alabama."

Big news during the dead period as far as his recruiting list is concerned happened at OU. Three things -- stadium renovation, alternate jerseys and the addition of DGB.

"Man, when I heard that on Twitter and I saw that they are building on the stadium, getting new jerseys and getting the receiver from Missouri (Dorial Green-Beckham), I am like thinking that they could have a chance when I get there, if I commit there, that they could win the championship," Sunderland closed.
