OU adds director of player personnel

OU doesn't make any rash decisions, across the board. The Sooners waited to find their director of player personnel and have him.

And now the final piece of Oklahoma’s 2014 program has arrived. The department suffered a major loss when Reed Case left the program as the director of player personnel to head to Texas.

Instead of rushing into things, Bob Stoops waited. No surprise there as Stoops is never in a rush to make any sort of dramatic decision.

The waiting ended Tuesday afternoon when OU announced Drew Hill will be the director of player personnel.

Hill comes to Norman after spending the last two years at Colorado State in the same role. CSU coach Jim McElwain couldn’t express more good wishes to Hill via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.

Hill’s role is a major one as he will be in charge of all aspects of OU’s recruiting, working side by side with Stoops and Cale Gundy, who serves as the director of recruiting.

One of the bigger issues in the last couple of years with OU has been troubling scheduling, and Hill will have that duty as well. He will coordinate the recruiting calendar.

Before being at Colorado State, Hill served in various similar roles at Fresno State and Southern Mississippi.
