OU No. 3 in USA Today poll

OU finds itself in a familiar spot as Sooners once again ranked in the top five in a preseason poll.

Oklahoma is back in familiar territory as the Sooners find themselves ranked No. 3 in the USA Today preseason poll released Thursday morning.

OU, coming off an 11-2 season in 2013, is only behind defending champion Florida State and Alabama. The Sooners, of course, defeated the Crimson Tide in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

The Seminoles received 56 first-place votes. OU was the only other school to receive more than one with three first-place votes.

The Big 12 has three more schools in the polls with Baylor at No. 10, Kansas State at No. 21 and Texas at No. 24.

OU began its camp this morning inside the Everest Training Center. Meet the Sooners is set for Saturday, while OU’s opener is less than a month away, Aug. 30 against Louisiana Tech.
